The Austrian Tourism Day (ÖTT) 2024 was a groundbreaking, interactive, and immersive event that set new industry standards—earning global recognition as the Best Conference and Best Convention of the Year at the prestigious BEA Awards 2024. Under the visionary leadership of Media Apparat, the event was completely reimagined, showcasing innovation at every level and empowering industry leaders to tackle the challenges of tomorrow while redefining the future of tourism.

Navigating the Challenges and Opportunities of the Tourism Industry with Austria ranking first worldwide in per capita tourism, the country plays a pivotal role in shaping the global tourism landscape. At ÖTT 2024, our mission was clear: to inspire key stakeholders and collaboratively develop solutions for the industry’s future.

Through cutting-edge technology—including an AI-powered co-moderator, interactive formats, and a dynamic stage setup—we redefined what a tourism conference could be, creating an entirely new dimension of live event design.

With 52 movable LED panels and over 108 million pixels, the event’s modular stage design transformed the space into seven unique configurations, turning the entrance hall of the Austria Center Vienna (ACV) into a visually stunning immersive experience.

One of the most captivating moments was the theatrical subway ride that transported participants on a visionary journey into the future of tourism. Through video animations, a 360° sound system, and interactive elements, complex ideas were brought to life in a way that was both playful and thought-provoking. This experience encouraged attendees to challenge conventional approaches and embrace sustainable innovations.

A defining innovation of ÖTT 2024 was the AI-driven co-moderator, powered by a custom-built GPT solution, which delivered expert-level insights in real time—pioneering a new form of dialogue.

Additionally, interactive elements such as live polls, quiz formats, and personalized photo stations encouraged active participation—both on stage and beyond, making attendees an integral part of the experience.

ÖTT 2024 achieved international acclaim, standing out among the world's most prestigious events at the BEA Awards 2024. Against fierce global competition, it secured two Gold Awards—crowning it as the Best Conference and Best Convention worldwide.
